NICOLA BRANDON
Nurse

More Information
I am the nursing team lead. I started my career in the NHS as a paramedic and I then trained as a nurse and qualifying in 2013. I worked in the community nursing team to begin with, moving to general practice at Orchard Surgery in 2015. I have developed special interests in infection control, cytology, immunisations, diabetes, asthma and COPD. The role of the General Practice nurse in supporting our patients as part of a team is important. We aim to offer holistic patient- centred care and to develop relationships that empower our patients, giving them confidence in the practice team.

CLIVE FARRINGTON
Practice Manager
More Information
I have been the practice manager at Orchard Surgery for over 20 years. Despite the challenges that face us in the NHS, the surgery has always tried to provide the best care possible for our patients. My intention is always to ensure that I can enable my administrative staff, managers and clinicians to provide a quality service. In 2023 I will be reducing my commitment to part time working but the management team and I will continue to support staff to help our patients access the most appropriate care within the practice and the NHS.

SARAH THOMPSON
Reception Manager
More Information
I have worked at Orchard Surgery for 13 years. I started out as a Receptionist and then took on the role as a Reception Manager. I have watched the surgery come through many changes, both of which have been challenging and also very rewarding. I enjoy interacting with our patients and have built up great relationships with them over the years. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to help our patients and get them the right care they need. With so many options now we can navigate them to the right service that is right for the patients’ needs. It is also nice for them to see a familiar friendly face when they walk in which straight away puts them at ease. We have a super team here at Orchard and I feel very lucky to be part of that team.

VICTORIA WEST
Reception Manager
More Information
I started working for the NHS in 1990 as a secretary at St Mary’s Hospital, London. I have since worked in a variety of NHS settings in London, Brighton, Crawley and Horsham. In 2004 my daughter was born and I took a career break. We moved to the North East and then to Derbyshire. When we returned to Horsham I started working as a Care Navigator at Orchard Surgery in 2020, just before the pandemic. I then became Reception Manager in 2023. I really enjoy working with the team at Orchard Surgery. Every day is different and it’s lovely to be able to build relationships with patients to help guide them to the care they need.
