A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a collaborative forum comprising patients, carers, and GP practice staff who meet regularly to discuss practice-related issues and patient experiences, aiming to enhance the quality of services provided.
Our PPG’s Purpose
Aims
The PPG exists to interact with and serve the interests of patients by;
Providing a means to communicate their suggestions, concerns and questions regarding the services provided by the surgery and other local health care provider,
Supporting the relationship between patients and the surgery,
Promoting health matters and encouraging patients to take self-care seriously,
Consulting and working with NHS bodies on behalf of patients, ensuring that the patient perspective is represented, remaining independent.
Objectives
Establish and maintain effective means of communicating with patients on the one hand and the staff of the surgery, both clinical and administrative, on the other.
Create and maintain a committee that is as representative of the patient population of the surgery as possible.
Ensure that we are represented on appropriate external bodies that influence the care delivered to patients.
Provide patients with non-clinical information regarding health issues.
Keep patients informed about developments in the way primary care to patients in Horsham is to be delivered.
Remain adequately funded.
